THINGS ARE LOOKING ROSIER! We managed to bend the two elements back close enough to get somewhat of a decent radiation pattern.  As you can see the driven element is still noticeably bent, but with the might DRAKE MN2000 tuner, the SWR is a managable 1.5.1....    The first station to hear us is Japan DX  followed by the VK's and ZL's.  Switching between the beam and vertical produced a noticeable difference in signal strength.  Even though damage by a tree falling on it, the beam was making good solid contacts.  There might be hope after all.  Maybe 6th consecutive win was obtainable afterall!

Jim was more "focused" after frantic repair efforts produced a working antenna!
