This is KB7AUS Pick O' the Kites.   There are "tons" of kites at the festival and it is often hard to pick one that truly stands out.  2000Y2K PIRATE SHIP.   This is a model pirate ship that of course ---- FLYS!   Our little digital camera just can't do this kite the justice it deserves.   The kite was very stable in lite and heavy wins.   Each sail was a miniature kite.  The body of the ship was a "rudder and stabilizer"   An entrepreneurial kite flyer had made up several for $50.00 ea.   Needless to say, they were sold out the very first day!

Thousands of Seagulls line the beach next to the dunes.  Perhaps the kites crowded them out of the sky!  Wish I could have gotton a better Telephoto/resolution shot.  This immense gathering of grounded gulls was absolutely huge.   Estimating, there was over 10,000 birds.   Maybe Jonathan was making an appearance.

SCENES LIKE THIS STRETCH OVER  MILES DURING THE KITE FESTIVAL.   IT IS DIFFICULT TO STAND OUT AS DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE IN SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE CROWD FROM  AROUND THE WORLD.  CAN YOU FIND MY "KITENNA"?
