THE ENGINE IS OUT!
THE TYPE lV ENGINE HAS BEEN REMOVED.  IT IS SITTING ON A 6"X6" PIECE OF PLY WOOD SEPARATING THE CASE FROM THE FLOOR JACK'S LIFT PAD.   THIS  PROTECTS THE CASE FROM DAMAGE AS THE WOOD ACTS LIKE A BUFFER OR A SHOCK ABSORBER.  IN THE BOTTOM OF THE PHOTO YOU CAN SEE THE HANDLE OF THE 6 TON FLOOR JACK.  THIS WORKS NICELY SINCE THE ENGINE CAN BE WHEELED AROUND INTO THE WORK AREA RIDING ON THE JACK!
I thought squirrels were suppose to do this job!

What insane mind thought up all of these wires, tubes, and connections!.
Major  ouch!.  See the GIANT hole in the piston.  Yup!  Severe engine damage = lots of new parts and a case.
This is what a major rebuild job looks like.  I will determine if it is cheaper to buy a new longblock or scrounge and build a righteous motor from scratch.  I do have another engine from a wrecked vehicle, but it too needs rebuilding.  The oil pump failed at 70 miles an hour on  the freeway.  Bummer!  Make sure your oil pressure sensor and light always works!

The fun just keeps happening!
This is the inside head. Look at all of the damage!  Up on the top of the photo is the stub of what remains of the spark plug.  This head has been turned into a boat anchor.  I nder how much per pound it is worth at a recycle yard?
