THERE IS A LITTLE OIL ON THE FLOOR THAT HAS LEAKED OUT. iT WILL BE CLEANED UP BEFORE ENGINE ASSEMBLY BEGINS. aLL OF THE PARTS AND TIN WILL GET A VERY THOROUGH CLEANING AND EVALUATION BEFORE AN ENGINE IS REASSEMBLED. DID I MENTION WHAT A PAIN IT IS TO REMOVE THE OIL PUMP HOUSING AND ASSEMBLY? YOU CAN'T USE A PULLER ON IT. IT IS DESIGNED FOR TWO SPECIAL FLAT PRYBARS WHICH FIT UNDER "EARS". THEN THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY IS PRIED OFF CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK THE EARS OFF. YUP, SURE DID! |
HERE IS ANOTHER VIEW. THE BIG HOLE HAMMERED INTO THE PISTON HEAD IS CLEARLY VISIBLE. It is the mother of all piston holes! ASO, THE HOLE WHERE THE OIL PUMP USE TO BE. BECAUSE OF ALL THE DAMAGE IN THIS PUPPY, THE OIL PUMP IS HISTORY. THERE IS METAL EVERYWHERE INSIDE. I WILL HAVE TO GET A GOOD PICTURE OF ALL OF THE PIECES ON THE SITE SHORTLY. THE BROKEN VALVE HEAD WILL PROBABLY MAKE A VERY NICE NECKLACE FOR THE PURPOSES OF REMINDER! THIS ENGINE WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF, BUT WHEN YOUR TIME COMES, YOUR TIME COMES! |
